LETTER: Commission is wrong approach to deficit

U.S. Rep. Ron Kind, D-Wis., wants a federal deficit reduction commission. How nice. Locally, that commission is called "Kapanke for Congress." The only way to reduce spending is to dump people like Ron Kind.

The federal deficit since Jan. 26, 2009, increased $1.7 trillion. For more than a decade, Kind has voted without restraint to impose this heavy federal debt (now more than $40,000 a person) on his neighbors, friends and family.

Kind brags about the $118,000 his office did not spend last year. Yet Kind still voted to spend $1.7 trillion more than the federal government took in. My daddy would have taken me to the woodshed for a spanking if I would have tried to tell him that kind of nonsense.

Kind’s Harvard math skills just don’t work. Let’s give the other North Side boy a chance at budget deficit reduction. The La Crosse area can’t afford any more of Ron Kind’s Massachusetts math.
