Pawn America event yields items for troops
Shoppers at Pawn America in Onalaska donated more than 1,000 entertainment items to U.S. troops in Iraq as part of Pawn America’s grand opening celebration held July 11-13. With each transaction they made, shoppers picked out a CD or DVD to donate to soldiers’ audio and video library packages.
Shoppers also wrote personal messages of gratitude to the troops to go with their donation.
The store is packing up multi- media products such as an entertainment system complete with over 1,000 CDs, DVDs, and video games, as well as video game consoles, CD and DVD players and an LCD monitor.
“What a great way to support soldiers serving all of us in Iraq,” said Brad Rixmann, owner and founder of Pawn America. “We hope the donation both entertains and comforts soldiers during their down-time. It’s a simple gesture to let them know our thoughts are with them, but something we hope will make a difference.”
