The 2008 State FFA Convention was attended by 15 members from Melrose-Mindoro.

The highlights of the convention included Kally Bockenhauer receiving her state FFA degree and recognition for winning a gold award for her sheep proficiency. Valerie Ponterio was also one of the highlights as she received a check and recognition for being state runner-up for the Grow-Mark Essay contest.

Our FFA also had several members performing in the State Honors Band and Choir. Performing for the band were Karlie White, Jamie Pfaff, Candace Anderson, Charmayne Anderson, Ben Rodenberg, Travis Gilmeister and Marissa Johnson. Performing for the choir was Tina Ferris. Kory Dahlen, from MMHS, is one of the State FFA Band directors.

Other members that served as delegates and enjoyed the many other aspects the convention had to offer were Stephanie Stello, Brian Lash, Rory Hanson, Rachel Tollefson and Vinnie Ponterio. All members enjoyed the convention very much, and joined more than 3.400 in attendance at the Alliant Energy Center in Madison.
