Melrose-Mindoro high school administrators, faculty, support staff and students have again welcomed exchange students for the school year. The students were asked two questions at the end of this year: your best memory and what you will miss the most.

Flavio Larrea from Quito, Ecuador, said his best memories are of cross country, track, choir concerts and homecoming week. He will miss his friends and host family who helped get him through good and tough times. His host family has been Sarah and Ken McAdams.

Tiffany Liu from Taipai, Taiwan, tried many new things this year, including prom, lip-sync in speech class and softball. She will miss her host family, friends and the care-free life here because this was her break between high school and college. She hopes to come back to visit sometime, especially to see her two young host sisters. Her host parents were Erica and Doug Pozanc.

Yudai Sakai from Osaka, Japan, has many memories of this year. One of his favorite was homecoming week with all the activities, especially wearing pajamas to school; in Japan he must wear a uniform every day. His favorite snack is now Skittles, not available in Japan. He will miss his host family and friends who were always beside him and supported him during happy and sad times and he wants to thank them all. His host family has been Sharon and Wendell Pfaff.

Ef Foundation for Foreign Study is always looking for new host families. To find out more about hosting contact Sharon Pfaff at (608) 857-3346.
